Two weeks to lift off!

Yesterday when I got into the office, I was delighted to find this inspiring card on my desk:

Safari, here we come!

Woohoo! We are officially booked for 6 nights in Kruger National Park, plus 2 more nights in the lux Kapama Game Reserve in northeastern South Africa. In less than a month, we'll be driving a tiny rental car amidst elephants, zebra, rhino, lions and whatever else lets us get close in sunny (perhaps sweltering!) paradise. And we'll have AC -- both in our lodging and our rental car! I'm so excited, it feels like Christmas. Oh wait, it is! And I'm a Jew.... anywho, hooray for travel!

 

 

 

24 days and counting down!

It's finally happening! We booked our tickets and we leave for South Africa on January 14, 2014. Now we just have to pack up our belongings, get our house ready to sell, take our cat to his new home, say bye to our friends and family, figure out how to get everything we need for a year into two small backpacks, and leave! Well, that should be no biggie ;)
